About

I am a Ph.D. Candidate at UC Davis, where I study American politics and empirical methodology. My substantive research explores how Americans perceive and respond to policy extremism on some of today’s most contentious culture war issues, including state-level abortion restrictions. My methodological focus considers how we might combine survey methods and machine learning to advance public opinion research. My research has been supported by multiple funding sources, including the Civic Health and Institutions Project (CHIP50) and the Institute for Humane Studies.

I am affiliated with the UC Center Sacramento where I assist with policy-oriented teaching, communications, and event work. I’ve also previously collaborated with the Institute for Replication.

I received B.A.s in Politics and Feminist Studies from UC Santa Cruz in 2018. Before applying to graduate school, I worked in politics professionally for several years. I fundraised for a nationally-recognized Congressional race and worked in Constituent Services for a Congressional District Office. I have lived in various places throughout Northern California, as well as the Washington, D.C. area, rural Colorado, and Reykjavík, Iceland.

In my free time, I enjoy Formula 1, traveling, writing for fun, and drinking coffee.
